Table of 18

Table of 18
Table of 18

Did you know that the 18-time table is the double-multiplication table we find in the table of 9? Were you surprised? In this chapter, we will learn about different strategies for memorizing table of 18.

Let’s take a look at how we can make writing and learning table of 18 easy!!

Table of 18

The 18 multiplication table is easy to read if you know 17 multiplication tables. Let’s see how you can find a table of 18 in a 17’s table. To add natural numbers from 1 to 10 to multiples of 17’s table, we can easily get 18 times the table.

 For example,

  • 17 ×1= 17 + 1 which is 18
  • 17 × 2 = 34 + 2 which is 36
  • 17 × 3 = 51 + 3 which is 54
  • 17 × 4 = 68 + 4 which is 72 and so on.

Refer this method for quicker solutions, it can help you in solving mathematical questions.

To remember the 18 hour table, here are some special tricks you can follow:

1. By subtracting 1 – 10 natural numbers from 19 coefficients 19 times a table can be obtained 18 times with the help of a table.

For example,

  • 19 x 10 = 190- 10 equals to 180 (18×10)
  • 19 x 2= 38- 2equals to 36(18×2)
  • 19 x 3= 57- 3 equals to 54(18×3) and so on

2.First, we need to remember the table 8 times. The first 10 times of the table of 8 are : 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80 ….

Add natural numbers to the tens digit of the table of 8 numbers, to find the multiple of 18. So, the table of 18 is available as:

 (1 + 0) 8=18

 (2 + 1) 6=36

(3 + 2) 4=54

 (4 + 3) 2=72

(5 + 4) 0=90

(6 + 4) 8=108

(7 + 5) 6=126

(8 + 6) 4=144

 (9 + 7) 2=162

(10 + 8) 0 =180.

Q.1: If Ramya takes 18 hours to complete a task, how many hours does it take her to complete 6 such tasks?

Solution: Time taken to complete 1 task = 18 hours

Q.2: In Table of 18, get 11 times 18?

Solution: 18 times 11 = 18 × 11 = 198

Q.3: 18 x b= 126 Find the value of a.

Solution: Given,

18 x a = 126

From the 18th table, we have;

18 x 7 = 126

So, the value of a is 7.

Question: suppose Meena asks Raj to distribute 162 pages among class students each must get 18 pages, so now calculate to how many students Ram will be able to distribute those 162 number of pages?

Sol: total number of pages Raj has is 162.

Each student should get at least 18 pages.

So now, the total number of students who will get pages will be = 162 / 18 = 9.

Therefore, the total number of students who will get papers 18 each equals to 9.
